Millionaire Dogs

The Characters

J.D.

Wherever this dawg hangs his hat is home.

You know the type: Street-savvy drifter, his smarts and his sense of humor have always seen him through. But this is going to be his biggest challenge ever! J.D. is definitely the world's number one lady-loving Labrador: One look at the beautiful Bella, and he's hooked. The feeling is mutual, but, like J.D., Bella's been around the block, and she knows enough to be wary of a rolling stone. Reminiscent of Disney's 'Tramp', J.D. isn't really the loner he pretends to be. Under that stray dog skin, he's a fiercely loyal friend -- and a total softie to boot! When crisis strikes, he steps up to the bat, pulls the group back together, and leads it to victory.

Bella

Former circus star Bella once foolishly followed her heart and chased after a no-goodnik Labrador, and we all know how that story ends. Miss Lilly picked her up off the streets, and Bella's been counting her blessings ever since. But when J.D. comes along, she tunes out the warning bells and falls hard and heavy. She almost throws her new-found love away when a million dollar windfall, a new agent, and too many hours on her cell phone get her thinking about her glory days. Vanity nearly does Bella in, but J.D. spins along just in time to open her eyes and save her from a fateful date with the fur factory.

Velvet

Velvet is the instantly likable and humorously recognizable typical teen: she's, like, totally self-absorbed, slightly ditzy, but still very sweet and always lovable. Devoted to her fanzines and hard-wired to her CD player, this adorable bundle of fur is always ready to … PARTY!

This is all fine, until a million dollars convinces this Britney-wanna-be that her fantasies really can come true. Like many a teenybopper before her, it takes one heck of a scary trip - in her case, with Dr. Quack - to rock her world. In the movie's touching conclusion, Velvet learns that she can reach out for something far higher than stardom.

Sherman

This big lug, easy on the brains, looks tougher-than-tough but is really all heart. As the official Guard Dog at Miss Lilly's, he's the chief of security, but as the unofficial Jock, he spends way too much time working out. If it's not one sport, it's another. He hopes his non-stop bodybuilding will impress teen-queen Velvet, but she's too lost under her headphones to even notice. In the end, though, true-blue Sherman earns something a lot more important than any gold trophy.

Chuffie

Chuffie is definitely the team Brain. This professorial little pup's pampered salad days come to a dead end when he is unceremoniously ditched by his master's limo driver. J.D. takes him under his wing and soon Chuffie is the resident Science Wiz at Miss Lilly's. Like the others, his dream of fame-as the first dog on Pluto-is almost, but not quite, his undoing. In the end, though, the hair-brained spaceship he invents saves the day for the whole team!

Emmo

What's a band of heroes without a comic sidekick? Emmo, the land-lubbing parrot, fills this role perfectly. "So what's a little fear of flying between friends?" he'd like to know. He's the nay saying, but ever flamboyant, Latin voice of doom and gloom: always squawking about looming disaster! Emmo always expects the worst, and so he usually gets it. But even in a freefall, Emmo wisecracks all the way down, miraculously rising after each crash landing to toss out yet another one liner. Miss Lilly loves this little guy, and so do kids.

Ronnie and Hannie

Miss Lilly's bad-to-the-bone niece and nephew are a real dastardly duo. Greedy to the max, they manage to be as cunning as foxes and as dumb as bricks at the same time-go figure. They've spent their whole lives scheming about the day when they can get rid of Miss Lilly and her pack of pups, and get her house and fortune for themselves. Secretly, each of them is also dreaming about getting rid of the other and having the whole inheritance to themselves. And then Miss Lilly leaves her whole estate to the dogs! No way will they sit still for this! But will they manage to get rid of the dogs, while still getting the best of each other?

Miss Lilly

Miss Lilly is not your everyday, garden variety, pet-loving little old lady. This little bitty lives to party! Miss Lilly roars around on her motorcycle, wines and dines with the whole gang, and even boogies with her own house band.

But she would NEVER neglect her true mission in life, which is picking up needy stray dogs, giving them tons of TLC, and making her house their home. So would Miss Lilly just up and forget about her precious pooches in her last will and testament? No dog-gone way!
